കൊല്ലം ഏരൂർ ജിഎച്ച്എസ്എസിന് എതിർവശത്തുള്ള കടയിൽ വെള്ളി വൈകിട്ടായിരുന്നു സംഭവം നടന്നത്. സംഭവത്തിൽ കടയുടമ അയിലറ സ്വദേശി സന്തോഷിനെ (45) ഏരൂർ പോലീസ് കസ്റ്റഡിയിലെടുത്തതായി പോലീസ് അറിയിച്ചു.

കടയിൽ കൂട്ടുകാർക്കൊപ്പം മിഠായി വാങ്ങാനെത്തിയതായിരുന്നു വിദ്യാർത്ഥി. ഇതിനിടെ കുട്ടികളിലാരോ കടയിൽനിന്ന് മിഠായി ഭരണി എടുത്ത് മറ്റൊരു കുട്ടിയുടെ ബാഗിൽ വയ്ക്കുകയായിരുന്നുവെന്നാണ് പറയപ്പെടുന്നത്.

എന്നാൽ, ഈ കൃത്യം ചെയ്തത് പരാതിക്കാരനായ വിദ്യാർത്ഥിയാണെന്നാരോപിച്ച് കടയുടമ കുട്ടിയുടെ കരണത്തടിക്കുകയും കടയിൽനിന്ന് പുറത്തേക്ക് പിടിച്ചുതള്ളുകയും ചെയ്തെന്നാണ് പരാതിയിൽ പറയുന്നത്. 

സംഭവത്തെ തുടർന്ന് സ്കൂളിന് മുന്നിൽ ഗതാഗത നിയന്ത്രണത്തിലുണ്ടായിരുന്ന ഹോം ഗാർഡിനോട് കുട്ടി വിവരം ധരിപ്പിച്ചതായാണ് വിവരം.  പ്രധാനാധ്യാപകൻ പി ഹാഷിം പോലീസിൽ പരാതി നൽകി ഉടൻ തന്നെ സ്റ്റേഷനിൽനിന്ന് പോലീസെത്തി കടയുടമയെ കസ്റ്റഡിയിലെടുക്കുകയായിരുന്നുവെന്നു.
