കൊച്ചി : മാനം കറുത്താൽ ആർത്തുലച്ചെത്തുന്ന തിരകൾ പേടിച്ചിരുന്ന കാലം ചെല്ലാനത്ത് പഴങ്കഥയാക്കിയത് എൽഡിഎഫ് സർക്കാരാണ്.

കടലാക്രമണത്തിൽനിന്ന് ടെട്രാപോഡ് കടൽഭിത്തിയുടെ കോട്ടകെട്ടിയാണ് സുരക്ഷ ഒരുക്കിയത്.

ആദ്യഘട്ടത്തിൽ ചെല്ലാനം ഹാർബർമുതൽ പുത്തൻതോടുവരെയുള്ള 7.32 കിലോമീറ്ററിലാണ് കടൽഭിത്തി നിർമിച്ചത്. 347 കോടി രൂപ ചെലവ്. 404 കോടി രൂപയുടെ രണ്ടാംഘട്ടത്തിനും മന്ത്രിസഭനിർമാണാനുമതി നൽകി.

കടലാക്രമണം രൂക്ഷമായ കണ്ണമാലി ഭാഗത്താണ് 6.1 കിലോമീറ്ററിൽ രണ്ടാംഘട്ട കടൽഭിത്തി നിർമാണം. ശരാശരി 66 കോടിയിലധികം രൂപയാണ് ഒരു കിലോമീറ്റർ തീരസംരക്ഷണത്തിനായി സർക്കാർ കിഫ്ബിയിലൂടെ ചെലവഴിക്കുന്നത്.
