തിരുവനന്തപുരം: മക്കൾക്ക് യൂണിഫോം വാങ്ങി സ്കൂട്ടറിൽ മടങ്ങുന്നതിനിടെ അമിതവേഗത്തിലെത്തിയ കാറിടിച്ച് വീട്ടമ്മയ്ക്ക് ദാരുണാന്ത്യം.

വർക്കല പാളയംകുന്ന് പുത്തൻവീട്ടിൽ ഷെർളി(50)യാണ് മരിച്ചത്. ഇന്നലെ ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് ഒരു മണിയോടെയായിരുന്നു അപകടം. റോഡിന്റെ ഒരു വശത്ത് നിന്നും മറ്റൊരു വശത്തേക്ക് കടക്കുന്നതിനിടെ അമിതവേഗത്തിലെത്തിയ കാർ ഇടിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

അമിത വേഗതയും അശ്രദ്ധയുമാണ് അപകടകാരണമെന്ന് പൊലീസ് പറഞ്ഞു. ചാവർകോട് സ്വദേശിയായ സിൻസിയർ ഓടിച്ച വാഹനമാണ് വീട്ടമ്മയെ ഇടിച്ചത്. ഇയാളെ അയിരൂർ പൊലീസ് കസ്റ്റഡിയിലെടുത്തു.
